Fall Fashion

"Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter." -Carol Bishop HippsFall Fashion

Following in the trend, I have to admit that fall is a great season (I can't lie, I am a summer girl and that will always be my favorite!). The fashion for fall is always more fun than summer, in my opinion, as it's when you can have fun and be creative with what you're wearing, as opposed to the summer when all you care about it keeping cool when it's super hot outside. Although the transition period can sometimes be a bit tricky, I've come up with a few of my essentials that are perfect for this month of clean, crisp air and cool mornings followed by sunny afternoons.

Sweaters: First and foremost, this is an obvious answer. Sweaters are perfect for right now, when you can actually wear them without a coat bundled over and stay the perfect temperature. I'm loving the elbow-patch trend so many sweaters have, as well as the knit, comfy ones that are just a size or two big. Soon, they'll be hidden under jackets, hats, and scarves, so now is the perfect time to take out your best ones and show them off.

Jeans: Another classic, it's is best to own one or two pairs of absolutely amazing, can't live without, makes you feel great dark wash jeans. I've never been a person to wear super light jeans, but the classic blue or a dark navy dye. Skinny jeans are what everyone wears, but sometimes a comfortable pair of straight-leg jeans look just as good. Jeans automatically make you look a bit more put together than leggings or yoga pants, without too much effort.

Tights/Leggings: Like most girls, I just can't say no to wearing a pair of super comfortable leggings and an oversized sweatshirt. It is so gushy and warm and winter-feeling that it's hard to pass up that outfit every single day once the cold hits. However, sometimes it's best to look like you put a little bit of effort in and that's where tights come into play. Just because it's cold out doesn't mean you have to shove away your dresses for good, and instead pairing them with a nice pair of lined tights, a scarf, and a jacket, you can be good to go! Plus, it's just as comfortable as wearing the leggings, just a bit more style.

Ankle Boots: Boots in general just scream fall to me. I'm a huge fan of tall, brown riding boots for the fall, but love a good pair of ankle booties as well. They look super cute and pretty much go with anything you want them to. Sometimes it's practical to keep the tall, riding boots to a minimum heel for comfort during the day if you are walking several miles like me, and save the ankle booties to have a bit of a heel for nights.

Cross Body Bag: Sometimes carrying a big bulky bag can get tiring, and a cute cross body bag is the perfect solution for when you don't need to be bothered to carry everything around with you. I chose this adorable burgundy one as I thought the color was perfect for fall and winter.

Hats/Mittens: The last component for an outfit, both a good pair of mittens and a warm hat are key. I love beanies just like the next person for the fact that they're actually pretty cute and they actually serve a purpose and keep you warm. I personally love a good burgundy one as it goes with my hair, but I'm also in love with this white, wooly knit one.

And there's my fall fashion essentials! I hope you enjoyed and got some inspiration from this post, I cannot wait to go out and do some more shopping!
