July 2013 Favorites
As I say every time I put up a favorites post, I honestly cannot believe that another month has come and gone. This time, it's even more dramatic as this will be my last month before starting a huge chapter in my life: university!! It's so crazy I can't believe it, much less think about it, so let's just get right on into my favorites for the past month (which is much more lighthearted).

Dreaming and Wishing
It always seems that I find the best things while broke. The other day I went up to my local mall to pick up an application for a job and walked through only two stores and was in physical pain with how much I wanted to buy. All of the shops are putting out amazing spring and summer clothes and accessories that have me literally salivating with just how much I want it all. Of course, this happens just as I'm so utterly broke that I can't even pick up a single thing. Woe is me!
To make myself feel a bit better, I decided to throw together a small list of what I've been lusting over.
I chose two of my favorite maxi dresses I've been eyeing which you can find here and here, both from Nordstrom BP. I have to admit, I actually don't own a single maxi dress. I know, I'm just as shocked and have therefore made it my ultimate goal to find at least a half dozen lovely maxi dresses this summer. I can just picture myself wearing them this summer with some cute wedges and feeling totally relaxed and comfortable! Also from Nordstrom BP is the ombre shirt, which you can find here. I'm loving that the ombre trend is growing this year into shirts and dresses (to match my hair) and this shirt's ombre colors simply scream spring and summer. The light pink and light green are so beautiful, but not in a weird-watermelon-type way. It's so subtle and lovely, I think this should would look so pretty with a pair of shorts, like pictured.
Now, the next two items on this wishlist are all from the single online shop, Tobi. I recently just came upon this website and I'm shocked that I've never investigated into it more, as I'm completely obsessed with it. I know that my next paycheck will be dedicated to buying a number of items from Tobi, hopefully including this dress and skirt. Lately, I've loved the skater skirt look and have seen so many cute skirts appear all over, online and in stores. I really love the look of this one from Tobi (found here). The lilac color and cute cutouts at the bottom only add to the skirt, and I think that it's just an overall fun look. I also had to include a short summer dress as it is all that I live in once summer comes. I've been eyeing up this tank dress (found here) which comes in so many colors, that I feel like I'd have to buy three minimum. I can picture myself living in these during the summer with cute belts and sandals.
The last item on my current wishlist, and probably the item I want the most is this adorable sweater from Brian Lichtenberg. You've probably seen this sweater somewhere on many fashion bloggers, as many of his shirts are making their way around the blog scene at the moment (or knockoffs from Ebay). The whole idea of his shirts are basically to poke fun at designer labels, and make them into something quirky, or in my opinion, absolutely amazing. I do have to say, though, that my favorite is this "Feline, Meow" sweater, which you can find here. I recommend poking around his other shirts, as they're all really clever and I'd take any. However, with the high pricetag, this isn't the most reasonable piece to buy, but I still love it.
Now that I'm feeling slightly better finally getting all of that off my chest, I think I'm going to go browse and start compiling my next wishlist (it won't take too long). What are your must-haves at the moment? Any online stores to recommend?

Happy Saturday, everyone! I just want to say sorry once again for the lag of posts this week, but I have just been so busy, it's crazy! I should be settled into a routine at this point, though!
One of my favorite posts to write are definitely the "Celebrity CopyCat" ones. I love searching the web and finding recent events that my favorite celebrities have attended and studying their style. Then, trying to find an alternative is just as great! Some are easy to find, while others take quite a bit of time before I'm happy with my result.
My new favorite show that I've become obsessed with is The Newsroom, which is on HBO Sunday nights. When I say I'm obsessed with the show... I mean that in the most literal way. I love it! The show is truly addicting, along with all of the great characters and plot twists. Aaron Sorkin is a genius writer and they could not have cast any better than they did. Olivia Munn plays one of the main characters in the show, who is a sharp and smart economist. Recently, she has been doing her rounds on talk shows to promote Newsroom, showcasing different styles. My favorite has to be her look she wore at Jimmy Kimmel: a neon pink pencil skirt and sheer, lace top from French Connection.
I decided to recreate this look, but definitely struggled to find a similar top. However, I'm still pleased with the similar look I came up with!

Besides that, I've fallen in love with her style. At each and every event she attends, or even when she's just going shopping, Olivia knows how to dress. My favorite look from a recent event is featured here, when she was attending the Faberge New York Flagship Opening. Her look is so pretty and fun, perfect for summer! Here is the recreation I came up with for her look.

Celebrity Copycat: Cara Delevingne

Lately, I have been absolutely loving model Cara Delevingne ever since I first saw her in an ad in Vogue for Burberry. Since then, I've loved all of her editorials and runway shows. Just shy of 20, she has been featured in some great ads for Chanel, Burberry, and even ASOS!
Off the runway, I love Cara's style for when she's photographed on the streets or at events! Here is the recreation I came up with for the first photo.

Celebrity Copy Cat: Jennifer Lawrence
Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you're having a great Memorial Day Weekend if you're in the US! I'm spending the day attempting to catch up on homework (so exciting...). Anyway, over the weekend I saw these photos of Jennifer Lawrence at the Monte Carlo Grande Prix. I really loved her outfit and became determined to find a replica of what she wore.
'Lo and behold, I was able to find the exact skirt, shoes, and bag she wore!

Overall, I think that this is a great look for summer. The fun and bright orange maxi skirt looks great with a pair of beige wedges and the rope bag is just too cute.

Outfit of the Day
Happy Saturday! I love Saturdays like almost everyone else, but I really love waking up early for some reason. Early and bright Saturday mornings are the best, just like how I started my day today.
Anyway, I had an event at my school this week and wanted to share my outfit with you! I found this cute navy dress at Macys and also purchased a small white cardigan to put over it. My favorite part, though, was probably the shoes. I once again lucked out at Payless and found a really cute pair of peep-toe nude heels. Love!

Trendy Tuesdays
I hope everyone is having a great start to the week! I don't know about you, but personally I think Tuesdays are much worse than Mondays. Every Monday I can wake up with not too much of an issue, as it's a brand new week, but Tuesdays are always my downfall. I come to realize it's not even halfway through the week, and just how much stuff is to be done.
Today's trend is largely inspired by feminine dresses. This trend can be seen everywhere, as dresses are growing less short and more modest. I like to think of this trend à la Kate Middleton. Kate's great outfits are conservative, yet gorgeous and still show her off in the right places. A cinched waist, reserved neckline, and just-above-the-knee hemline are key factors in her outfits she wears to formal events.
More and more designers are taking a cue from Kate and creating gorgeous pieces for us everyday folks, making us look as elegant as the Duchess herself.
Personally, I love this trend and hope that it will stay for a long time. No offense to those who love to wear dresses that barely cover anything, I think a look like this is much more classier and memorable. Out of all of these dresses, I think my favorite would have to be either the Valentino or Peter Som. Both are so gorgeous! Which is your favorite? Let me know!

Mulberry Fall 2011
I hope everyone is having a great long weekend, Happy Labor Day! I thought today I'd post my favorite campaign for this fall, Mulberry. Mulberry was my favorite runway show back in February, I loved everything about it - the colors, the models, the designs, just every aspect! So I was more than pleased when I saw the first ad for this collection, and then the video ad. I hope you all love it as much as I do!

Trendy Tuesdays
One of the biggest trends this fall is fur. Whether is be faux fur, rabbit fur, or fox fur, it's here to stay. Everyone has their own beliefs and opinions on whether or not to wear real fur, so I've included both real and faux fur in this post. The moment I knew fur would be big was when I watched the Gucci Fall 2011 runway show all the way back in February. The collection really took my breath away, and know fur is springing up everywhere.

Rachel Zoe's Debut Collection: Days 5, 6, + 7
I figured I'd end this week with the last three days of Rachel Zoe's new collection. On Friday, she talked to Saks.com about her sequin mini dress - and AH, I was in love once again. This shift dress is gorgeous, I can see what she was talking about when she said it can be brought day-to-night. Out of all of her collection, I'd probably purchase this piece along with the tie-neck blouse.

Shoe Lust

Rachel Zoe's Debut Collection: Days 3+4
Yesterday I had to give myself yet another sick day, but I feel almost 100% today, I promise!
Today I want to go over Rachel Zoe's looks for Wednesday and Thursday. Personally I love love love love love the second look, but not a huge fan of the first.
I don't completely despise this look, but if you watch the "runway" clip of the model wearing this outfit, I don't really like just how the pants come across. Nonetheless, I love the jacket and think it would look amazing with a nice pair of dark-wash jeans. I love a beige jacket, and the military style with gold buttons really does look gorgeous.
When I saw this look, it only took a measly glance and I already knew I was in love. As Rachel Zoe said, " [sparkles] ... they're kind of my favorite thing ever." This cardigan is so cute, I love the white with black, it looks classy despite the risk of being trashy with so many sequins. And the blouse, well, it's already sold out. I know, I was upset too. The blouse is so gorgeous, right on trend for this fall.

Rachel Zoe's Debut Collection: Days 1+2
Happy Tuesday! I'm sorry for no post yesterday, but I've come down with the flu and yesterday was a really horrible day. I mean, really, only I would get the flu the last full week of summer before school starts up.
Anyway, I figured I'd start this delayed week with Rachel Zoe's event for Saks Fifth Avenue where she introduces a look from her debut collection that she particularly likes. On Monday, she talked about a beautiful peacoat with striking bootcut jeans and the cutest ankle boots. The jacket and jeans are already not available online! It's not too surprising, though, considering the gorgeous look. I've been looking for a nice peacoat to invest in, and this coat is really one of the best I've seen.
The second look that she talks about is a powerful grey suit that's perfect for work and also versatile, as she mentions in the video talking about the look. Again, it's crazy and the pants are already sold out in every size except 0! And this is just a pre-sale, as the items aren't out until the end of September.

Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012
Who else is in love with this campaign video? I think Karlie Kloss looks gorgeous in this Fall 2012 campaign for Oscar de la Renta. Her hair looks so pretty and the makeup looks stunning - and of course the clothes are to die for. I know a lot of people are saying that Karlie is becoming overexposed and she's not that special, but I really love her and can't seem to hate any of her work.
